History of Christ Church AFC
Christ Church have a rich past but, recently, have fallen on hard times. They have Cuppers champions on no less than 9 occasions, most recently in 1997. They also featured in the highest scoring Cuppers final on record in 1995 against Jesus. With the score 3-3 at the end of 90 minutes a crazy 30 minute period followed with a further 5 goals, with Christ Church eventually emerging winners by the odd goal in 11. Despite this rich heritage in Cuppers competition, there is little evidence of Christ Church performing well in the inter-college leagues and since their relegation from Division 1 in 1997/98 have not played in the top flight, their only successes in this time being Division 2 championships in 2000/01 and 2005/06.
