Biography
After a long and illustrious acting career, Ian Mainwaring joined Christ Church AFC in the hope of living out the quiet life, leaning against goalposts behind his rock-solid defence. Unfortunately, Ian's dreams of tranquility have not been unfulfilled, and the former Lock Stock and Terminator star has often found himself scrambling around his six yard box as if it were a war zone.
Affectionately known as "Vinnie," Mainwaring has transferred his hard-man persona over into the footballing arena with consumate ease. Whether bawling at the fragile defence before him, kicking in penetrated goal posts or being beaten from fifty yards, he is one of the most feared men in football.
Nonetheless, he is one of the game's real nice guys off the pitch, and was also commander of a home guard unit during the second world war.
