Match report
Cambridge took the lead through Brendan Threlfall and Oxford's Alex Toogood equalized before half-time. No goals were scored in the second half and the match was decided by penalties after 90 minutes. Cambridge won the first Varsity match penalty shootout 4-3 despite Nicholas Baker saving the first three Cambridge penalties.
Oxford's initial 16-man squad included Robert Ivermee and Homer Sullivan: both were injured after the squad was announced and were replaced by Tom Brown and Matthew Robinson respectively, both of whom came off the bench to earn their blues. Luke Barrs and David Robinson were unused substitutes.
